As you can see I have not been able to get my background changed..but I decided that you didn't come to my blog just to look at my background....you came to see how we were doing...and so I will continue reporting on our lives and such and not worry about it being Valentines for a very long time.

Today I feel great. I love it when you feel that closeness with the Savior and know that you are doing your best with the challenges in your life. I struggle at times with the challenges set before me. I get confused which causes me to feel like I am in the dark and dreary world wandering around in the fog, passing that big and spacious building and wondering why I don't feel like I am on solid ground. Then there will come into my life some guidance and I will be able to get back on track with my faith. This journey in life for me has certainly been one of gaining faith and putting my faith in the Savior on a hour by hour basis. I find much guidance and support in the temple. I am so grateful for the temple. I am so grateful for the blessings. I am so grateful for the Savior always answering my prayers and always understanding my needs. I am grateful for the scriptures and the peace they bring into my life.

There was nothing else to me to write today that seemed to have any importance more then sharing my gratitude to my Savior. I love Him.

So I leave that with you and share my love with you this day. Thank you for your beautiful ways .

Whoa!!! Quite awhile since I posted anything, I am having trouble figuring out how to change my background since the Cutest whatever on the block has changed it stuff so I decided to do a post anyway and wait until Melisa or Wendy are over here and I remember to ask them how to do it...sometimes I am definately learning impaired. So bare with me people.

It was a wonderful conference weekend. I am always so grateful for conference. I love it. I must say that there were some wonderful talks and music as always, but the talk from Elder Holland took my breath away. I am so grateful for the way he presented his talk, I was in awe. It was a most sacred experience for me. So today my heart is full of gratitude.

I have to say that I missed seeing Pres. Hinckley and probably will for quite some time. Also Elder Wirthlin. I remember his voice so well and especially his last talk on humor. Isn't that something the impact they have on your life. What a great example of love and righteousness.
I love so much Pres. Monson and his unique way of expressing himself and serving the people. So full of Christlike attributes. We are definately a blessed people to have him.

I hope everyone is doing well and that you are making the choices that truly bring you your happiness. With love, Mom

Update on the goals

Its been a little while since I started my goals, I have to admit that I am doing well on all of them except one....and that one is I have not started to lift my little weights...haven't been able to get myself to do that. Sooooo I am going to work hard at trying to do it at least once this coming week. So wish me luck. I did have a craving one day to go and eat a big ole burger but somehow found myself upstairs in the fridge making a turkey sandwich. How that all happened I will never know but it felt good not to be desperate to the point I had to go and have a hit. So I will keep truckin and keep the chin up....so far pretty darn good. Hooray for me!!!!

I am so grateful for those "still quiet moments"

I was so excited to go to my religion class today. I look forward to it every week for it has become such a highlight in my life right now. I truly love going. When they began the class they informed us that the teacher had fallen a couple of weeks ago and hit his head. He seemed to be doing alright but this morning was rushed into surgery because he had a detached retna (sp?). Bro Christensen has made a place in my heart that I will treasure throughout all eternity. I enjoy his personality and I enjoy his gift of teaching with the spirit and the fun and joy he adds to my learning. I was dissappointed to say the least, I wanted so much to partake of his spirit and knowledge but I got in my little Crown Vic and headed out to come home. As I was coming home there was that moment when I felt the tenderness of the spirit give me what I always received in his class and that was comfort and love. I am so grateful to know how Heavenly Father is so aware of each of us and blesses us with tenderness when there is a need. I was filled up and was so grateful for that still quiet moment when I had exactly what I wanted and needed. I pray that when you are in need that you will have a still quiet moment that will bless you, comfort you and lift you. Love, Mom

My Goals for 2009

Happy New Year!!!!Let's hope that 2009 turns out to be a wonderful and peaceful year, cross your fingers, knock on wood and don't let any black cats walk in front of you. I am in the process of setting some goals for the year. I looked at the goals I set last year and I am proud to say that there was only one I did not fulfill. I am one happy camper. So I debated about putting my goals on the blog and decided to do it. I will post perodically how I am doing and whether or not things are going well or not so well. I concluded that the reason I was successful in accomplishing last year goals was because I wanted to accomplish them. Wanting being the key word in my success. I want to accomplish these goals also so I am hoping that it will be a successful year for me again. So here are my goals:

1. Eat better foods each day

a. eat at least 3 fruits and veg every day

b. drink 4 to 8 glasses of water every day

c. have not more then 2 sugary items per day

2. Exercise

a. go to the pool and do the river walk for 30 to 60 min 3 days a week

b. work out on the bicycle for 20 to 30 min 3 days a week on level 3 or higher

c. lift the 2 to 5 lb weights 10 to 15 min 3 days a week

3. continue to attend the temple every week

4. Keep a spiritual journal at least 4 times a week

5. Take and complete two academic classes this year.

Say what?!#$%%^^@%$#

So I am at the checkout counter at Harmons...and the check out boy, cash register guy....says looks like you are shopping for Thanksgiving and I said yesseree bob..this Sunday is my thanksgiving day with my family....then he says..oh my family decided were not going to do Thanksgiving anymore or christmas....my eyes pop out...smoke comes out of my ears and then my eyes spin around quickly and I say huh?@3$#@...he said, yea my siblings and I are all grown up so there is no need to do Thanksgiving anymore. I then say, I didn't even know that was an option in life. That is truly unamerican you know. Their family didn't feel it was necessary to do Thanksgiving any more and besides look at all the money you would save. Well you will definately save money by not having Thanksgiving, but that doesn't mean you don't have a special dinner one with prayer filled with all those tender feelings for family and friends and blessings you have received. I don't get it...it was more then my body, mind and spirit could comprehend. How can you not have Thanksgiving....and then no christmas...I grabbed my groceries and ran....tooooo much for me....I hope that my family remember to thank our Father in Heaven for all that they have...please tell me you are thank full for your abundance of family and friends. May all of you know how my cup runneth over for my family and my life would be so less without each one of you. I am truly blessed for all that I have with each one of you. With waterfilled eyes and swallowing hard, my heart pounding I am so grateful for each of you and each one of my grandchildren....if you weren't my own and I met you I would definately have wanted each one of you for my own. I know a lot for some of you...but its how I feel and it feels good to share it. So here's to lots of Thanksgiving's and Christmas's together and apart. I love you....Mom
